One thing that many people forget about in the stress of a move is that you have to switch the address that you have listed with various companies. Most of these will be places that have your payment details stored and that need to have a billing address. There are a few other types of places that you will need to change this for as well though. Doctors, dentists and other places that have medical records of you will need to know your new address. Loyalty cards usually also require you to have an address listed, this will need to be updated. Lastly anywhere that is sending you things regularly will need your new address.

Unpacking
Unpacking is a vital part of your move. You may feel inclined to hold off on unpacking for a while and distress form the move. It is worth noting however, that you will be able to relax and enjoy your new home better one you have absolutely everything done. It is much harder to relax and destress when you know that you still have things to do. Getting settled in
Getting settled in is an often overlooked part of the moving process and has many different parts to it. Firstly there is adjusting to your new home. This includes things such as figuring out how you want to furnish the home so that it feels like it is yours and learning all the different quirks of the home. Secondly is getting used to the neighbourhood. This is a social/community thing where you want to get used to the new people that are around you. Lastly is getting used to the area or city. This is about learning where things are, what there is to do and how you get to various places that you need to go.
